Activities managed- H/W design, Firmware development, ASIC development, packaging, PCB design and Mechanical design.
Technical Management - Marketing collateral, specs, sign off, checking, DVT writing, technical reports to customers. Design reviews, manufacturing subcontractor liaison, internal liaison.
Customer Interface - tech input at presales meetings, progress/review meetings (on and off site), writing tech reports to customers, customer training (at their site), writing and presenting technical papers (ESA, NATO, symposiums). Presentations to senior management. On site trouble shooting. Outsourcing - trade off and accomplishment of outsourcing SMT and unit manufacture and test.
Subcontractor management - selection and liaison for mechanical design, FPGA design, PCB layout, assembly of test equipment.
Migration of designs - in two cases, responsible for transferring a set of designs from one site to another, on one, from the USA.
Procurement - hardware, components, ASICs, S/W tools, assembly & test services, Metalwork, PCBs etc.
